Journal of Oral Tradition Studies is the core journal of oral tradition. The journal is under the auspices of Andalas University, Indonesia in collaboration with the West Sumatra Branch of the Association of Oral Traditions (ATL). Its aim is to publish high-quality research and outstanding creative work of a multidisciplinary nature from a broad range of cultural, literary, linguistic, and historical fields on the same intellectual platform. Articles may include field studies, case studies, desk research, etc. Articles should be relevant to current issues within the scope of oral traditions including the study of language, literature, and cultural values.
The different segments that will be featured in each issue of the Journal of Oral Tradition Studies are: (i) critical writing on literary, linguistic, and cultural studies (ii) creative writing covering oral traditions.
The Journal of Oral Tradition Studies invites scholars and writers to submit high-quality papers that present original research with in-depth ideas and deep thoughts that have the potential to pave the way to new perspectives in the fields of language, literature, and culture. This could take the form of a critical examination of current theories in the fields of literature, language, and culture, the unification of two or more scholastic assumptions in those disciplines, or the production of any work that might fall under the aforementioned segments.
Journal Oral Tradition Studies is an internationally referenced online journal published twice a year in February and August.
